- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 an onion (optional but i prefer)
- 2-3 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 14 oz can tomato sauce or diced tomatoes
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- Italian seasoning to taste
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Red pepper flakes to taste
- Grated Parmesan (for topping)
- Fresh basil (for topping)
- 6-8 oz pasta of choice
Start by boiling pasta in salted water
Add butter to a saucepan over medium heat
Add onion and cook until soft (if you’re using onion if not skip to next step)
Add garlic and cook until fragrant
Add tomato paste and cook for a couple minutes
Add tomato sauce and seasonings and cook on medium low for 5 minutes or until slightly thickened
Add heavy cream and reduce heat to low
Add cooked and drained pasta to the sauce
Stir so that the noodles are coated and remove from heat
Serve with grated parm and fresh basil
