Burgers
- 1 lb ground beef
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sliced cheddar/American cheese
Sauce
- 1/2 cup mayo
- 3 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tsp yellow mustard
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- 2 1/2 tbsp sweet pickle relish
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 small onion diced
- 2 tbsp butter
Toppings
- Lettuce
- Tomato
- Pepperoncini peppers (to squeeze the juice onto your burger)
- Sliced pickles
Homemade French fries (generously season to taste)
- Potatoes (1 per person depending on how many you’re serving)
- Olive oil (enough for drizzling)
- Salt and pepper
- Paprika
- Onion powder
- Garlic powder
- Parsley
Add all sauce ingredients (except for onion and butter) to a bowl and combine
Set in the fridge until ready to serve
Prep potatoes by washing, drying, peeling, and slicing into fries
Add fries to an ice bath and soak for 30 minutes (this removes starch)
After 30 minutes dry, add to a bowl, drizzle with oil, and season
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
Add fries to the baking sheet
Cook at 400 for 20-30 minutes (might have to broil)
In the meantime, shape ground beef into patties
Add to a skillet and cook through, seasoning with salt and pepper as you go
(Just before removing from heat add cheese until melty)
While patties cook, add butter to another pan
Add onion and caramelize until soft
Once cooked add 1/2 of onions to homemade sauce
Once patties and fries are cooked, assemble burgers
(In-N-Out adds melted sliced cheese to their fries but, this is optional. If you decide to do this add sliced American cheese to the top of your fries and add them back into the oven until melted)
Add desired toppings, onion, and sauce to your burger
Add sauce to the top of your fries
Serve with Pepperoncini peppers
(You can make lettuce wraps or use burger buns)
