Philly cheesesteak sloppy joes

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 green bell pepper chopped
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 1 cup mushrooms chopped
  • 1 tbsp mixed garlic
  • 3/4 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • Oregano to taste
  • Handful of freshly shredded cheddar (optional)
  • 4 brioche buns
  • Sliced provolone
  • Pickles/relish (optional topping)
  • Pepperoncini peppers (optional topping)

Add olive oil to a pan with peppers, onion, and mushroom and cook until soft

Once soft add garlic and cook until fragrant

Transfer mixture to a bowl and set aside

Add beef to the pan and cook through

Once cooked add broth, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings

Add the veggies back in and simmer for a few minutes until thickened

Add a handful of cheddar cheese to the meat to make it more creamy

Assemble sandwich by adding meat mixture to a bun and melty provolone cheese on top (you might have to place the cheese and meat in the microwave to melt first before adding it to the bun)
