Meatballs:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/4 cup Parmesan
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 2 cloves garlic
Sauce:
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 onions
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1 cup Gruyère cheese
- Parsley for garnish
Add all of the meatball ingredients in a bowl and mix well
Roll into 16 balls
Add to a dish and broil for 8 minutes
Remove from the oven and set aside
Change the oven temp to 360
Prepare the sauce by adding butter and onions to a large cast iron skillet
Let them caramelize
Sprinkle sugar and flour over the onions
Cook for a couple minutes then add broth and Worcestershire sauce
Add the meatballs to the sauce
Put the skillet in the oven and cook for 15 minutes
Remove from the oven and sprinkle cheese on top
Broil for 4 minutes
Serve with mashed potatoes (my recipe is posted on this site)
